- Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune writes Chicago Bears RB Jeremy Langford is still out with an injury and has missed “nearly all of training camp.” Langford sprained his right ankle during a walk-through on one of the first days of camp.
- Langford is listed as the number two running back behind RB Jordan Howard on the Bears’ first unofficial depth chart. In 2016, Langford averaged just 9 yards after contact per attempt, which ranked last out of 68 running backs with more than 50 attempts.
- Langford’s number two job will be pressured by RBs Ka’Deem Carey, Benny Cunningham, and 2017 fourth-round pick Tarik Cohen. On 32 carries last season, Carey averaged 3.0 yards after contact per attempt and forced five missed tackles. Cunningham (5.1% career drop rate) and Cohen will challenge Langford (19.6% career drop rate) as receiving options out of the backfield.
