- According to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Inquirer, there is increasing talk that Philadelphia Eagle receiver Jordan Matthews’ knee injury is more serious than tendinitis.
- Matthews earned a 76.1 receiving grade in 2016, the best on the team but 54th ranked overall.
- Despite 16 drops over his last two seasons, Matthews has been a productive slot receiver for his team. Over the last three years, no receiver has accumulated more targets (285) or receiving yards (2,389) from the slot than former Vanderbilt Commodore.
- Matthews 198 receptions from the slot ranks second in the NFL over that same time span, just one catch short of Jarvis Landry’s total.
- The receiver missed most of the Eagles’ spring practices, and his name came up in trade rumors earlier in the offseason as he enters the final year of his contract.
