  • New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles was noncommittal on running back Matt Forte’s availability for Week 1. Forte has missed most of training camp with a strained hamstring for the second straight year.
  • The 31-year old back battled knee problems towards the end of last season, as he was limited to just 12 combined snaps over the final three weeks. His 487 snaps in 2016 were the fewest of his nine-year career.
  • Forte’s 39 forced missed tackles in 2013 were a career-high; since then, his total has dropped off significantly year-to-year (32 in 2014, 24 in 2015 and a career-low 18 in 2016).
