- National Football Post NFL writer Aaron Wilson announced, via Twitter, that the New York Jets have signed running back Travaris Cadet following a successful workout.
- An undrafted free agent in 2012, Cadet has spent the majority of his career with the New Orleans Saints. In 2015, Cadet had brief stints with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers before returning to New Orleans late in the season.
- Throughout his career, Cadet has seen limited action running the ball, with just 26 rushing attempts from 619 career snaps.
- However, Cadet has been utilized in the passing game, and was targeted 50 times in 2016, finishing the season with a yards per route run (measuring productivity on a-per route basis by dividing total yards by total snaps in route) of 1.32, which ranked 24th among 43 qualifying running backs.
