- Rookie wide receiver Dede Westbrook could see his first regular season action Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team confirmed. He has returned to practice and can be removed from injured reserve this week if the team believes he is ready to play Sunday.
- The former Biletnikoff winner had an outstanding 2016 season at Oklahoma, catching 11 touchdowns on deep passes (targets 20 yards or more downfield), the most among college wide receivers. His yards per route run (measures productivity on a per route basis) of 4.24 was the third-highest among 245 qualifying wide receivers.
- Albeit only in preseason, the fourth-round pick has had similar success. Westbrook caught all 13 of his catchable targets, the second most receptions without a drop this preseason, and his 6.40 yards per route run was the highest mark of any wide receiver.
