during their game at Lincoln Financial Field on October 27, 2013 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • Confirmed on Tuesday by head coach Doug Pederson, Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters will miss the remainder of the 2017 season with ACL and MCL tears in his knee. Peters left Monday’s contest after sustaining the injury and was replaced by Halapoulivaati Vaitai. Over the past decade, few players have been as consistently good as Peters who has graded in the top-10 at his position in all but one season as a pro.
  • Peters was his usual self in 2017 ranking second among tackles with a grade of 86.4 overall. One of the best pass blockers in the NFL, Peters 97.7 pass blocking efficiency ranks second among 59 tackles with at least 165 pass block snaps. He has allowed just seven pressures on the season and completely shut out his opponent in four of seven games.
  • Replacing Peters long term will likely fall on the shoulders of Vaitai whether at right tackle or left tackle. Vaitai has not fared well on the 188 snaps he has played the season earning an overall grade of 46.1. Splitting those snaps between left tackle and right tackle Vaitai has been infective in pass protection surrendering three sacks on just 93 pass block snaps.
