- Per reports at organized team activities, Cowboys WR Dez Bryant wants to return punts in 2017. Bryant last returned a punt in 2012.
- Bryant’s first career touchdown was indeed on a punt return in 2010, during his rookie season. Bryant returned two punts for touchdowns that year, ranking second behind only Devin Hester.
- The two seasons following his rookie year however, Bryant saw his punt return grade decline to average in 2011 and 2012. After averaging 14.3 yards per return in 2010, he averaged 6.7 and 5.5, respectively, the next two years.
- Between 2010-2012, among punt returners with at least 40 returns, no one had a lower fair catch rate (fair catches divided by the sum of returns and fair catches) than Bryant.
