Cowboys DI Paea has told the team he is retiring

  • Adam Schefter of ESPN said on twitter that Dallas Cowboys interior defender Stephen Paea has reportedly told the team he is retiring. Paea had signed a one-year contract with Dallas this offseason.
  • Drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round in 2011, Paea played for four teams in his seven year NFL career. He logged 145 snaps in the first four games of 2017, and was inactive in Week 5.
  • Paea's best season was in 2014 when his career high PFF grade of 82.8 ranked 20th among interior defenders. He was sixth in PFF pass-rushing productivity among defensive tackles that year with five sacks and 47 total pressures in 418 pass-rush snaps.
