- Colts rookie second-round cornerback Quincy Wilson appears to be behind fellow rookie and fifth-round pick Nate Hairston after Hairston started the preseason opener against the Lions, as reported by Mike Wells of ESPN.
- Wilson allowed a reception every 22.7 cover snaps, tenth best in the nation, last season while at the University of Florida and his 29.9 passer rating allowed when targeted was sixth lowest in the country.
- A former wide receiver turned cornerback, Hairston has shined in camp thus far and graded higher than Wilson last season at Temple, at 81.9 overall compared to Wilson’s 71.3. Hairston allowed a passer rating of 51.8 in 2016, fifth lowest in the AAC.
- On 32 coverage snaps, Wilson allowed three receptions on six targets and one touchdown, he also only allowed nine of the 41 receiving yards after the catch. Hairston on the other hand allowed two receptions on his two targets but 21 of the 30 receiving yards came from after the catch on 25 coverage snaps in the preseason opener vs Detroit.
