  • San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde has struggled through two pre-season games thus far. Hyde has played a combined 30 snaps so far and has graded poorly. In the 49ers’ first preseason game against the chiefs he earned an overall grade of just 52.9. Things got worse for Hyde in their second game against the Broncos, as he earned an overall grade of 38.6, which ranked 91st out of 92 qualifying running backs for the week.
  • Hyde has particularly struggled creating extra yards and so far, has produced an elusive rating of just 0.0. Hyde has yet to force a missed tackle and is averaging just 1.60 yards after contact per carry which ranks 82nd out of 106 qualifying running backs.
  • Hyde could be struggling with the offensive system change as he has shown in the past he is a capable back when healthy. In 2016, he earned an overall grade of 73.2 which ranked 31st out of 61 qualifiers and in 2015 he earned a career high 81.8 grade.
