- After missing the last two games with a triceps injury sustained in Week 1, Arizona Cardinals G Mike Iupati ‘feels there is a 100 percent chance he starts on Sunday’ against his former team, the San Francisco 49ers, according to azcardinals.com writer Kyle Odegard.
- Throughout his career, Iupati has excelled as a run blocker and his 2015 run block grade of 87.5 ranked as the fourth-highest among guards in the league. During that season, the Cardinals recorded 26 runs of 15-plus yards, the most in the league. Through three games in 2017, they haven’t recorded any.
- While it hasn’t always been his strength, his 2016 pass block grade of 57.0 ranked 57th among 73 qualifying guards, the Cardinals will be hoping that Iupati can help protect Carson Palmer, who has been pressured on 41.7 percent of his dropbacks so far this season, the third-highest in the league.
