Broncos edge rushers shine in victory over Cowboys

  • It turns out the Denver Broncos are just fine without retired edge rusher DeMarcus Ware. Shaq Barrett and Von Miller combined to tear the Dallas Cowboys pass protection to pieces on Sunday, and finished the game with the highest pressure totals of the weekend among edge rushers.
  • Miller racked up a dozen pressures, and could have had even more if he had been able to restrain himself from jumping offside, something he did four times in the game as he tried to time up the Dallas snap count.
  • Perhaps more impressive was Barrett’s nine total pressures, coming as they did largely from the other side of the line against All-Pro left tackle, Tyron Smith. Four of his nine came against Smith, with the others taking advantage of stunts to work the LG Chaz Green.
  • Miller has not been held without a pressure in a game since the 2013 season, and it has only happened three times in his entire career.
