Broncos cut RB Pierce, sign UDFA RB Williams

  • The Denver Broncos have waived RB Bernard Pierce and signed undrafted free agent RB Stanley Williams, per the Broncos’ team website. Williams was waived by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
  • Pierce last played an offensive snap in 2015, playing 29 snaps with the Jaguars. For his career, Pierce has averaged 3.9 yards per attempt and 2.4 yards after contact per attempt. He did not receive a carry in either of the Broncos’ two preseason games.
  • Williams flashed big-play ability at Kentucky last season. His breakaway percentage (percentage of yards that come from runs of 15-plus yards) of 51.6 percent ranked 19th out of 203 running backs with at least 90 attempts.
