- Shorts ranked seventh among 71 draft-eligible WRs with 874 of his receiving yards coming from out of the slot.
- Shorts was especially effective in 2016 when running hitch routes. He was targeted 19 times on hitch routes last season, catching 16 of them for 187 yards and a touchdown. West Virginia QBs had a 125.2 passer rating when targeting Shorts on hitch routes, 39.1 points higher than the FBS average on hitches.
