  • Chicago Bears defensive end Akiem Hicks “seems like a prime candidate for an early extension,” according to the Chicago Tribune.
  • Last season, Hicks earned a career-high 83.1 overall grade, the 16th-highest grade for an interior defensive linemen and the fourth-highest for a Bears player.
  • He finished in the top 10 among 3-4 defensive ends in run-stop percentage (7.8 percent, seventh-best) and pass-rush productivity (7.6, ninth).
