  • According to the Sacramento Bee, San Francisco 49ers WRs Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin have “clearly” been the top two receivers at training camp. The 49ers acquired Goodwin in the offseason after the receiver spent his first four seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
  • With the absence of Sammy Watkins in the Bills offense last season, Goodwin played a much bigger role than he was used to. His 641 snaps played on offense were the most by any Bills receiver last season and were the most he has played in one season.
  • He didn’t make the most of this opportunity, however, as he graded poorly last season achieving an overall PFF grade of 51.6, ranking 93rd among 115 receivers in 2016.
  • The Bills quarterbacks in particularly didn’t have a great time throwing Goodwin’s way in 2016. His WR rating of 57.2 was the third-lowest of by a receiver with at least 44 targets (WR rating is the passer rating generated by the QB when targeting that receiver).
