- San Francisco 49ers first-round pick LB Reuben Foster will be a full go for the beginning of training camp on Friday. There were reports before the draft that Foster might need a second shoulder surgery that could have have forced him to miss the entire season, but this was not the case as Foster was able to take part in individual drills during OTAs and minicamp.
- With 52 stops in run defense on 320 run snaps last season, Foster led all draft-eligible linebackers with a run-stop percentage of 16.3 (a stop is defined as anything that constitutes a “win” for the defense).
- Foster was the highest-graded linebacker in college football last season with an overall PFF grade of 93.9, this is also the second-highest overall grade by a linebacker in the PFF era (PFF began grading college players in 2014). He also led the nation with a run defense grade of 96.0.
