- Ann Killion of the San Francisco Chronicle reported Thursday that the San Francisco 49ers will place wide receiver Pierre Garcon on injured reserve and he will miss the rest of the 2017 season. Garcon suffered a neck injury in the team's Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
- In his first season with the 49ers after signing as a free agent, Garcon is PFF's ninth-ranked wide receiver this year with an 82.5 overall grade. He ranked eighth last season when he recorded a career-high mark of 87.2.
- Garcon has 40 receptions this year without a dropped pass, third-most of any wide receiver without a drop. He's the fifth-most targeted receiver with 65, and ranks 23rd with 1.79 yards per route run.
- San Francisco will now rely on veterans Aldrick Robinson and Marquise Goodwin and rookie Trent Taylor to replace Garcon's production the rest of this season with new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
