- Patrick Mahomes' pick-six proves costly: The Jaguars needed the score to upend the Chiefs, who were otherwise the more efficient team.
- Brian Thomas Jr. isn't putting up big numbers, but he is slowly returning to form: Thomas was again the Jaguars' leading receiver this week, securing four catches for 80 yards.

The Jacksonville Jaguars improved to 4-1 on Monday Night Football, securing an important 31-28 win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Game Summary

According to the PFF noise-canceled score metric, it was a high-scoring game in which both offenses moved the ball well. The Chiefs were actually moving the ball better, especially on early downs, but by the end of the game, a pick-six and the fact that the Jaguars had the last true drive in a dominant second-half offensive showing were too much to overcome.

Passing Summary
The Chiefs were efficient through the air, but Patrick Mahomes‘ pick-six tanked their numbers. Meanwhile, the Jaguars got most of their marginal value through scrambles from Trevor Lawrence.

Receiving Summary
It has not been Brian Thomas Jr.’s year so far, but he has led the Jaguars in receiving in consecutive weeks and is still clearly their No. 1 receiver in terms of targets, air yards and snaps.

The Chiefs spread the ball around well, and it’s hard to find a clear No. 1 target on their team. If their receivers can avoid crucial mistakes, that feature of their offense could be a huge positive as the season progresses.

Rushing Summary
If it weren’t for the final score, this was a feel-good game for the Chiefs, who found their run game against what had been a stout defense up to this point.
