KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM NFL WEEK 2
No Rookies At All
Only two teams said to hell with their rookie class this week: the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings.
Seattle is to be expected, as it only had three draft picks in 2021 while 56 overall was their first and only top-100 selection (D’Wayne Eskridge). The Vikings, on the other hand, had 11 picks. While rookie first-round tackle Christian Darrisaw is still nursing an injury, not having one other rookie contributor in the class is still a tad surprising.
Developing Youngsters
As a fan, if you know your team is going to be bad, it’s nice to see it try to develop its youngsters. Therefore, seeing the New York Jets (336) and Detroit Lions (200) finish first and fourth respectively in rookie snaps played last week should give those fan bases some reasons for hope.
