In essentially a meaningless game for both teams, the Denver Broncos defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 31-28.
The now 10-7 Chargers had clinched the No. 5 seed in the AFC earlier today. They’ll be on the road next week to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in the wild-card round.
The Broncos finish with a 5-12 record in what was a disastrous first year for quarterback Russell Wilson in Denver.
Offensive spotlight: Jerry Jeudy was a big-play receiver all day against the Chargers. The third-year receiver caught five of his six targets for 154 yards, averaging an absurd 30.8 yards per catch.
Defensive spotlight: Joey Bosa dominated on limited snaps for the Chargers, as he picked up a sack and four pressures on just eight pass-rushing snaps. The seventh-year edge defender also had a 50% pass-rush win rate in the game.
Rookie spotlight: Jamaree Salyer has continued to impress at left tackle in place of the injured Rashawn Slater. The sixth-rounder from Georgia allowed only one pressure on 45 pass-blocking snaps and currently has a 79.9 grade on first review, a career-high should it hold.
Offensive line spotlight: Salyer wasn’t the only one who excelled on the Chargers offensive line. Los Angeles allowed only three pressures on 45 pass-blocking snaps, good for a season-low 6.7% pressure rate allowed. Center Corey Linsley and right tackle Trey Pipkins didn’t allow any pressures in the game on 38 pass-blocking snaps.
