NFL Week 16 Game Recap: San Francisco 49ers 37, Washington Commanders 20

The San Francisco 49ers continue to be the hottest team in football, pulling off a 37-20 victory over the Washington Commanders.

The 49ers move to 11-4 on the season and have now won eight straight. Meanwhile, the Commanders fall to 7-7 and are in the thick of the NFC wild-card picture.

Offensive spotlight: George Kittle has been absolutely dominant recently. The sixth-year tight end’s 94.4 grade over the last two weeks currently leads all players. Against the Commanders, Kittle caught six of his eight targets for 120 yards and two touchdowns — his second-straight game with multiple touchdowns.

Defensive spotlight: Nick Bosa continues to further his case for Defensive Player of the Year. Against the Commanders, the fourth-year edge defender generated nine pressures from 26 pass-rushing snaps, with a couple of sacks and a forced fumble as well. Bosa had a 33.3% pass-rush win rate on the day, per PFF”s initial review.

Rookie spotlight: Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson put together one of the best performances of his rookie season so far. The first-rounder from Penn State has a 90 grade on first review, which would be a career-high. Dotson caught six of his nine targets for 76 yards and a touchdown.

Offensive line spotlight: The 49ers offensive line did an excellent job at protecting Brock Purdy, only allowing a 15.4% pressure rate. Offensive tackle Trent Williams continues to look like one of the best players in the league regardless of position. He had a clean sheet on 26 pass-blocking snaps.
