The Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos both entered this game without their starting quarterbacks, with Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson out with injuries. And the Cardinals eventually had to go to third-stringer Trace McSorley when Colt McCoy left with a concussion, and the Broncos ended up with a 24-15 victory.

With the win, Denver improves to 4-10 and is already eliminated from playoff contention. Arizona is also 4-10, and this loss eliminates any chance of them cracking the playoffs.

Offensive spotlight: With Brett Rypien at quarterback, the Broncos offense ran through Latavius Murray. The ninth-year running back gained 130 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries, forcing five missed tackles along the way.

Defensive spotlight: Three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt had a vintage performance against the Broncos. The 12th-year interior defensive lineman has a 91.0 grade on first review, which would be his highest single-game grade since 2018. Watt lived in the backfield, tallying three sacks, four total pressures and a tackle for loss. He also added a forced fumble and a batted pass.

Rookie spotlight: Damarri Mathis impressed in coverage for the Broncos. On 39 coverage snaps, the seventh-round cornerback from Pittsburgh didn’t allow any catches and forced an incompletion, as well.

Offensive line spotlight: The Cardinals offensive line excelled in pass protection today. Their unit currently has a 90.8 pass-blocking grade on first review, which would be a season-high. Arizona only gave up seven pressures on 39 pass-blocking snaps. Guard Will Hernandez was particularly impressive, with no pressures allowed on the day.
