NFL Week 12 Game Recap: Chicago Bears 12, Minnesota Vikings 10

The Chicago Bears failed to find the end zone against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night, but in the end, they didn't need to.

For most of the game, the Bears struggled to take full advantage of the Vikings' numerous mistakes on offense, but quarterback Justin Fields saved his best for the closing minutes of the game, finding D.J. Moore for a 36-yard strike to put his team into game-winning field-goal range. Kicker Cairo Santos made no mistake from 30 yards out, giving the Bears a 12-10 victory.

The Minnesota Vikings struggled on offense for most of the game, with stand-in quarterback Joshua Dobbs tossing four interceptions on the night.

The Vikings fall to 6-6 and remain in second place in the NFC North. The Bears improve to 4-8 but still hold two top-five picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Offensive spotlight: D.J. Moore continued to be the bright spot for this Bears offense, catching 11 of his 13 targets for 114 yards and six first downs. Three of his catches went for 15 or more yards, and he racked up 76 yards after the catch.

Passes thrown Moore's way have netted a 123.7 passer rating this season, a top-15 mark in the league.

Defensive spotlight: Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson was targeted five times in coverage on Monday night, but he allowed just two receptions for 4 yards. Johnson added two passing stops, one forced incompletion and an interception early in the second half, with throws into his coverage generating a pitiful 8.3 passer rating.

Rookie spotlight: Vikings cornerback Mekhi Blackmon was active on Monday night, recording five solo tackles and two defensive stops in the passing game. He was targeted twice and allowed two catches, but those catches went for just 16 yards and one first down.
