In an NFC showdown between two teams hanging onto postseason hope, the New Orleans Saints defeated the Los Angeles Rams 27-20. The result brings the Saints to 4-7 on the season, while the defending Super Bowl Champion Rams drop to 3-7.
Offensive spotlight: Saints quarterback Andy Dalton has been hot and cold this season since taking over for Jameis Winston. This week was one of his better performances. He earned a 90.5 passing on first review, completing 21-of-25 passes for 260 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Dalton had two big-time throws with no turnover-worthy plays and an adjusted completion percentage of 91.%.
Defensive spotlight: Despite the losing result, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has to be the top player of the day on defense. He recorded four total pressures and a pass-rush win rate of 26.5%.
Rookie spotlight: Saints wide receiver Chris Olave once again went over 100 yards receiving on the day, which was the third time he’s done that so far in his rookie year. Olave led the team with four first-down catches and brought in 100% of his catchable targets.
Offensive line spotlight: Rams left tackle Ty Nsekhe, who played 35 snaps in the game, recorded a pass-blocking grade of 87.5 on first review. He didn’t allow a single sack or pressure across his 35 reps.
