The Philadelphia Eagles' regular-season tailspin improbably bled into the first round of the playoffs against the NFC South champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A year after coming up just short of a Super Bowl win, the Eagles came up more than short in every way imaginable, losing six of their final seven games and crashing out of the postseason in 32-9 fashion despite a 10-1 start to the year.
Offensive spotlight: The Buccaneers' shrewd offseason investment in Baker Mayfield paid off — every cent of a one-year, $4 million deal. He dealt with seven drops from his receivers in this game but remained poised as he posted an unofficial 82.9% adjusted completed percentage. He made one big-time throw and one turnover-worthy play, pending reviews.
Defensive spotlight: Mayfield rocked the Eagles' cornerback unit, which was responsible for allowing 263 yards and three touchdowns in coverage. James Bradberry and Darius Slay accounted for 161 of that total, pending reviews.
Philadelphia's Brandon Graham recorded a game-high 33.3% pass-rush win rate despite recording only one quarterback pressure — a sack — on the first review of the contest.
Rookie spotlight: Buccaneers interior defender Calijah Kancey is on track to earn the highest game grade of his young career after tallying three stops and three quarterback pressures, pending reviews. The Eagles' Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith notched a pressure each, and Smith added one stop in run defense.
