Star quarterback Lamar Jackson is officially out of the Baltimore Ravenswild-card game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

With Jackson on the sideline, the Ravens will have to rely on Tyler Huntley or Anthony Brown to create enough plays in the passing game to help pull off the upset.

Jackson suffered a PCL sprain against the Denver Broncos in Week 13 and hasn’t practiced since. He has the fifth-highest PFF grade among all quarterbacks in the league this season.

Ravens quarterbacks: PFF grade in 2022
Player Dropbacks PFF grade
Lamar Jackson 378 85.2
Tyler Huntley 135 58.7
Anthony Brown 54 36.2

In his absence, former undrafted free agent Tyler Huntley has started four games, and undrafted rookie Anthony Brown has started one.

Huntley has yet to produce a single-game grade above 65.0, and he has just two big-time throws from 135 dropbacks. For all his struggles in the passing game, the biggest issue is that he doesn’t offer close to the threat of Jackson as a runner. From 28 rushing attempts, he has forced just two missed tackles; Jackson had forced 34 on 86 attempts through Week 13.

Anthony Brown’s first start against the Bengals a week ago won’t have given Ravens fans much faith, with the former Oregon Duck producing a PFF grade of 35.8 in the game. He had no big-time throws but three turnover-worthy plays in the game.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has won more road playoff games than any other coach in league history, but adding to that total this weekend would be an impressive feat, given the situation surrounding his quarterback room.
