NFL Preseason Week 3 Game Recap: Houston Texans 26, Detroit Lions 7

Although it was the Houston Texans‘ day to shine, Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa just keeps making plays.

Detroit's only points came via TeSlaa, who scored on a deep shot from Kyle Allen. He found the end zone three times across the team's four preseason outings and hit 40-plus yards in three outings.

Texans rookie quarterback Graham Mertz made his case as the game's most impressive first-year player, leading three straight scoring drives to build a 16-7 edge for Houston heading into halftime. The Texans closed out the game by a 26-7 scoreline.

It was by far Mertz's best outing, as he had tossed three interceptions and logged just 29 passing yards on 16 completions heading into Saturday's affair. The sixth-round pick finished the contest 14-of-16 passing for 145 yards and a touchdown.
