NFL Preseason Week 1 Game Recap: Detroit Lions 17, Atlanta Falcons 10

The Detroit Lions-Atlanta Falcons preseason Week 1 contest was suspended in the fourth quarter after Lions safety Morice Norris Jr. was taken off the field in an ambulance with an apparent head/neck injury.

Starters were few and far between, but Detroit did enough for the 17-10 win over Atlanta. Lions quarterback Kyle Allen engineered two touchdown drives, and his team's defense shut down Atlanta's attempts to sustain offensive success.

The Falcons got a game-high three quarterback pressures out of 2022 second-rounder Arnold Ebiketie, who, for now, is one of the team's starting edge defenders while rookies Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr. develop.

PLAYER OF THE GAME

Much has been made about the Falcons' defensive line woes in recent years, but Arnold Ebiketie was out to prove that the team's rookie contributors should have to wait their turn.

The veteran edge defender notched a sack and three total pressures when including plays negated by penalty. His 20% pass-rush win rate was the top clip among Falcons players with at least 10 pass-rush snaps.
