The injury occurred in the second quarter when Winston was dragged down from his nameplate by linebacker Devin White. The Saints quarterback stayed down for some time before leaving the field with the help of the athletic trainers.
Winston has played well since becoming the Saints' starter, throwing for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and just three interceptions this season. His 74.2 overall PFF grade in 2021 is the highest of his seven-year career.
Veteran backup Trevor Siemian entered the game for Winston and helped guide the Saints to victory, completing 16-of-29 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown. It was Siemian’s first appearance in a regular-season game since 2019, when he played for the New York Jets.

Taysom Hill has also played quarterback for the Saints in a limited capacity under Sean Payton but has been inactive since Week 5 with a concussion.
The NFL trade deadline is on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. ET if the Saints intend on adding a quarterback via trade.
