Miami Dolphins sign EDGE Bradley Chubb to mega extension

  • Miami acquired Chubb from the Denver Broncos on Tuesday, giving up a first-round pick and more, and quickly reached an agreement on a five-year, $110 million contract extension that includes over $60 million in total guarantees.
  • Chubb has totaled 26 pressures and 5.5 sacks on the year, earning a career-high 74.9 PFF grade and a 79.2 pass-rush grade.
  • The former top-five pick was in the final year of his contract and is now locked in with Miami through 2027.

Season likely over for New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas

  • Thomas has not played since Week 3 due to a toe injury, and head coach Dennis Allen told reporters that the recovery has not responded the way the team hoped it would. Thomas will undergo surgery that is likely to end his season.
  • Thomas has struggled to stay healthy since signing a five-year, $96 million extension in 2019. He played in seven games in 2020, missed all of last season and has played in just three games this year, totaling 16 catches for 171 yards and three touchdowns.
  • In his last full season in 2018, Thomas had a record-setting season, recording 149 receptions (most in NFL history) for 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns. He earned a 90.7 receiving grade, the best mark among wide receivers.

Baltimore Ravens WR Rashod Bateman needs season-ending surgery

  • Bateman re-aggravated his foot injury during last week’s game against Tampa Bay. Further tests revealed he has a lisfranc injury, and the team left it up to him on if he’ll have season-ending surgery or try to rehab and wait until after the season.
  • Bateman has recorded just 15 catches for 285 yards on the season, earning a 61.6 PFF grade.
  • The Ravens are now left with Devin Duvernay, Demarcus Robinson, James Proche and Tylan Wallace on the active roster while veteran DeSean Jackson is likely to be promoted from the practice squad for Monday night's game against New Orleans.
