The regular season is here, and many of the NFL’s rookies made their official debuts. As always, we will track the performance of all 32 first-round picks, as well as their snap counts and principal opponents.
For the first time in the 2025 regular season, here is our analysis of this year’s first-round draft picks.

- Overall Rookie Grade: 57.4 (Rank: 1/1)

Ward drew a tough debut assignment against a good Denver defense and was under heavy duress throughout the day. He was pressured on 52.9% of his dropbacks and was sacked six times. Ward didn’t make any glaring mistakes and certainly wasn’t helped much by his receivers, but he completed just one of 12 attempts that traveled beyond 10 air yards.
Pick No. 2: Jacksonville Jaguars: WR/CB Travis Hunter
- Overall Rookie Grade (Offense): 54.7 (Rank: 6/9)
- Principal Opponent (Offense): Chau Smith-Wade
- Week 1 Offense Snaps: 42
- Week 1 Offense Grade: 54.7
- Overall Rookie Grade (Defense): 66.7 (Rank: N/A)
- Principal Opponent (Defense): Tetairoa McMillan
- Week 1 Defense Snaps: 6
- Week 1 Defense Grade: 66.7
Hunter took the vast majority of his reps at wide receiver in Week 1 and hauled in six receptions for 31 yards. One of those catches was contested, and he broke two tackles. However, he earned just a 55.2 PFF receiving grade due to a drop. Defensively, Hunter played six snaps at cornerback and made one tackle in coverage.
