Fantasy: IDP - Pick Six

Are we already into the second month of the season? It’s amazing how fast time flies when you’re not waiting for a lockout to end. So by now you know the drill: here are six IDPs that could be available on your waiver wire that should be difference makers this week.

London Fletcher: The Washington Redskins linebacker continues to play at a high level despite being more than ten years older than a lot of his competition. In fact, Fletcher’s 3.7 PFF rating currently has him inside the top ten inside linebackers through the first three weeks. Fletcher gets a nice matchup this week against the St. Louis Rams, where he should be a productive LB2.

Navorro Bowman: It’s been stated enough times already that Bowman is outplaying his running mate in San Francisco, Patrick Willis, but it’s still true through three weeks in both fantasy and real life. In fact, Bowman currently ranks as the second highest scoring inside linebacker this season with a 7.6 PFF rating. He’s also seeing the field often enough to be guaranteed success, so for playing a whopping 196 snaps. This week Bowman goes up against the Philadelphia Eagles where he should continue his torrid pace.

Chris Clemons: One of the lone bright spots for the Seattle Seahawks this season, Chris Clemons has been a very productive defensive lineman this year and currently sports a 7.9 PFF rating. Through 163 snaps, Clemons has 2 sacks, 2 quarterback hits, and a whopping 13 quarterback pressures, so it’s pretty obvious that he knows how to get to the quarterback. This week, he’s playing against an Atlanta Falcons team ranks the second lowest in pass blocking, so he should see lots of opportunities to get to Matt Ryan.

Tommy Kelly: Tommy Kelly has been a force on the Oakland Raiders defensive line, playing on 143 snaps while racking up a 6.2 PFF rating. Although he hasn’t had outstanding success getting to the quarterback, with 2 sacks, 1 hit, and 4 pressures, that should change this week. This week the Oakland Raider defensive tackle gets to face a New England Patriots team that presents a favorable fantasy matchup as they throw the ball a ton and don’t have a real game changer at running back. This should allow him to focus his efforts on getting to Tom Brady, while being able to get a couple tackles as well.

Richard Marshall: This one’s pretty straight forward. Richard Marshall is a play making cornerback who has had way more plays made on him than he’s made so far, as evident by his negative 4.1 PFF rating. This week Marshall and the rest of the Arizona Cardinals secondary goes up against the New York Giants passing attack who should be back at one hundred percent. Look for Eli Manning to throw early and often, which should allow Marshall to rack up some tackles and passes defended, and maybe even an interception. Slot him in at your defensive back position and don’t look back.

LaRon Landry: The Washington Redskins safety looks to be getting back into top form, and should be able to show why he’s regarded as one of the top fantasy football defensive backs in football. Going up against the St. Louis Rams this week, Landry should be able to make lots of plays against a Rams offense that has struggled to spread the field with its passing attack and should rely on Steven Jackson and it’s running game to set the offensive tone.
