Fantasy Football: Week 7 IDP Report

Estimated Reading Time: 75 minutes

Week 7 takeaways

Waiver wire

  • LB JD Bertrand, Atlanta Falcons: Bertrand filled in for Divine Deablo and played 100% of his team's defensive snaps the rest of the way. Bertrand tied for the team lead in tackles this week and should be considered a top waiver target option in non-shallow formats for IDP rosters in need.
  • LB Shemar James, Dallas Cowboys: James was a waiver target last week with Jack Sanborn out, but with Sanborn back active this week, it seems that James kept the starting job and should be considered an IDP target in most formats, as he played a near every-down role.
  • LB Denzel Perryman, Los Angeles Chargers: Perryman played his first game since Week 1 while Troy Dye was inactive this week due to a thumb injury. If Dye continues to miss time, Perryman doesn’t have to worry about sharing the part-time LB2 role, otherwise both players aren’t likely to be IDP-relevant if active together.
  • S Harrison Smith, Minnesota Vikings: After playing fewer than half of the defensive snaps in each game up until this point, Smith finally went back to his full-time snap share and can once again be considered an IDP option. This came at the cost of Theo Jackson’s full-time role, and while Jackson was slightly more productive, Smith’s usage makes for the better IDP projection the rest of the way, assuming this holds.
  • S Dane Belton, New York Giants: With Jevon Holland out, Belton took on a full-time role and ended up leading the team in total tackles (10). If Holland misses more time, Belton can have value in non-shallow IDP formats for teams in need.
  • S Malachi Moore, New York Jets: Moore has seemingly taken over the starting job from Tony Adams, who was active this week but played solely on special teams. Moore can be added in deeper IDP leagues where starting snaps alone carry value, though his usage in the box (39%) is also promising.
  • ED Chase Young, New Orleans Saints: After making his season debut last week, Chase Young increased his snap share this week and looked good, delivering his best pass-rush grade in a game since 2023 and landing a half-sack for his efforts. Young’s playing time makes him a potential bye-week fill-in option for teams in need if he can keep this level of play up in future weeks.
