Welcome to Week 8 of the 2017 NFL season, also known as the Chicago Bears edition of the IDP Waiver Wire! In this week’s low-down on the priority pickups from your league’s unattached we’ve got not one, not two, but three Chicago Bears that you’ll want to key in on as your roster pushes for the playoffs. In case you’re questioning my motives here, this is week’s article is not sponsored by Illinois Tourist board, it just so happens that the data I’m drawing upon is telling me you’ll want to double-down on players from the Windy City heading into Week 8. With all that being said, lets talk specifics, which Chi-Town defenders should you be targeting this week?

Defensive linemen

Akiem Hicks, Chicago Bears

In his sixth season as an NFL pro, Akiem Hicks is well on pace to record his highest-ever sack total, having recorded six through the first seven weeks of the season, just one shy of his previous best. Sunday’s performance marked Hick’s third straight game with a sack, and his fourth game of the season he’s had at least one, while also averaging 3.4 total tackles per game. He’s not a DL1 by any means, but if you’re looking for a reliable backup or bye week replacement, then Hicks can certainly fill that role.
