Fantasy football drafts are in the books, and we now turn our attention to the in-season betterment of our team. This primarily happens through the waiver wire, but if you’re a gunslinger, maybe fantasy trades are more your style.
Trading players can be one of the most exhilarating things in fantasy. But it can also be one of the most difficult. How, exactly, should you value one player versus another?
In truth, there’s no simple answer. But the trade value chart is here to help.
The trade value chart uses our rest-of-season projections to assign values to every relevant player. The dollar amounts assume a 12-team league and a starting lineup of 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, and 1 Flex. The players are displayed in order of their standard league values, but we’ve included the PPR values for those players as well.
Below is the Week 1 fantasy football trade value chart. Before we get there, I’ll run through a few of the things that jumped out. Perhaps you can use some of these musings to strike a favorable trade before the season begins.
David Johnson and Le’Veon Bell are head and shoulders above everyone else. It’s no secret that they are the two best players in fantasy today, but this really puts it in perspective. If you are one of the Johnson or Bell owners, don’t let someone pry them away for cheap.
Don’t sleep on Todd Gurley. He was a massive disappointment last season, but he’s set up for a tail-end RB1 campaign in 2017. He seems like the kind of players whose real value doesn’t match his perceived value, and you might be able to buy low on him.
