Last week’s Thursday night game provided much more spark than anyone could’ve imagined, especially on the Jets side of the ball, where they had four skill position players top at least 92 total yards. On the other side, Sammy Watkins turned out to be a good fade in DFS.
This week brings us a different sort of Thursday night game, and one that will likely be low-scoring. This is because the Patriots are now down to their third-string quarterback against the Texans, and are still possibly missing Rob Gronkowski. But as we saw in Week 1 where the Patriots went to Arizona and beat the Cardinals, never doubt a Bill Belichick-coached team.
Despite this game having the makings of a low-scoring affair, there are often gems found hidden in the rough, and as we have every Thursday, we’re going to help you find them.
Quarterback
Brock Osweiler, Texans (DraftKings $6,000, FanDuel $7,200, Yahoo $28)
Through two weeks, Osweiler has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy players, as he’s kept both DeAndre Hopkins’ and Will Fuller’s value afloat. What’s even more impressive is that he’s done it on limited volume. He’s thrown just 68 passes in the two games, which ranks 23rd among quarterbacks, and keep in mind that there have only been 28 quarterbacks who’ve played two entire games.
