After waiting a full offseason – and one canceled Hall of Fame game – for football to return to us, we finally had our thirst quenched by six preseason games last night. Hopefully you were all successful with your DFS lineups, and did not run up against too many folks who happened to luck into a pair of short Mark Ingram touchdowns.
While winning at preseason DFS isn’t as easy as guessing Albert Breer’s Twitter password, the competition is significantly softer than during the regular season. If we can figure out who will get the most snaps and touches, we usually will have the advantage. It can be tedious to comb through a haystack of beat reporter tweets and blurbs, but it typically is rewarding.
With all that said, we’re on to Friday night.
Quarterbacks
Bruce Gradkowski, Pittsburgh Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger will not suit up. Gradkowski is again his direct backup after missing last season with various injuries, and he needs all the reps he can get. While Antonio Brown won’t play, Gradkowski will work with several first- and second-team players – including training camp standout Sammie Coates — against a suspect Lions defense.
