The fantasy playoffs are well underway, and more than ever fantasy gamers are deliberating long and hard about their lineup decisions. Every call you make with your starting lineup on Sunday feels magnified, because a loss means you’re eliminated. My advice would be don’t overthink things, and taking big risks and following “gut feelings” or “hunches” is usually a bad idea. We’ve got 14 weeks of stats to inform us now, and as a PFF subscriber you should buy in to the idea that data gives you an edge, so let’s have a look at some of the numbers heading into Week 15 and see if we can identify an edge.
Defensive linemen
Start: Danielle Hunter, Minnesota Vikings
A fast start to the season for Hunter saw him gain fantasy notoriety, but he experienced a slow period in the middle of the year that saw him post three games without a sack, all under five fantasy points. He’s since reignited and racked up 6.5 sacks in his last five games, and now heads into a Week 15 matchup with a Colts side that ranks first for opposing defensive ends, and has had real problems keeping Andrew Luck standing upright in recent weeks. It’s the perfect crescendo of an in-form player, meeting a great fantasy matchup, and I’m expecting DL1 scores. A top-five performance isn’t out of the question.
