Welcome to the Week 5 edition of Snaps, Pace, & Stats, where we examine trends in snap totals and no-huddle usage. It is meant to be a 30,000-foot view of upcoming games, with the goal of identifying which matchups will – and which will not – be played on fertile fantasy soil.

Arizona Cardinals at Philadelphia Eagles

The Cardinals average a league-high 71.5 plays and allow the seventh -most (65.7). They just gave up 79 snaps to the 49ers, who averaged 58.7 coming into the game. While the overtime period boosted snap counts, Arizona’s pass-heavy approach and third-highest-graded run defense consistently contribute to elevated play volume. The Cardinals pass at the second highest rate in neutral situations (one-score game) and opponents throw at the eighth highest rate against them. Unsurprisingly, their games average the most combined plays.
