Welcome to the weekly start/sit column, where we identify and advise on 10 fringe players on your season-long and DFS rosters. The goal is to help you make the tough decisions.

As always, I would love to continue the discussion and hear your thoughts on your most difficult start/sit questions on Twitter. Throw me a follow @DanSchneierNFL and I am prepared to answer every question that comes my way. For now, let’s jump into the Week 10 start/sit plays.

Start

Jay Cutler, QB, Bears (vs. Buccaneers)

We’ve been cashing in while targeting the Buccaneers pass defense all season long. Everyone likes to point to the 49ers, Saints, Browns and Lions as the easiest pass defenses to target, but the Buccaneers get lost in the mix. Meanwhile, they have struggled to generate a consistent pass rush all season long and are in need of a massive talent infusion in the secondary. The Buccaneers rank No. 24 in our pass-rush grade and No. 26 in pass coverage. They haven’t cracked the top 25 all season long. Cutler looked in sync with his wide receivers in his first game back in Week 8 and the offense sustained drives against a tough Vikings defense. The Bears could return starting guards Josh Sitton and Kyle Long for this one — both practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. The Bears have the No. 13 overall pass-blocking unit in spite of the injuries. If a healthy line returns, Cutler will have all day to sit back and make plays. Cutler doesn’t have a massive ceiling, and you wouldn’t want to play him in DFS tournaments, but he makes for an excellent cash game play.
