Sunday night’s game was insane. A 6-6 tie game. Honestly, there were no words.
The divisional game between Arizona and Seattle did have some fantasy relevance. David Johnson continued his dominance with 113 yards on the ground, 171 total. Larry Fitzgerald continues to overcome any questions about his age and he caught nine passes for 70 yards. Doug Baldwin went six for 69 and Jimmy Graham went five for 53.
But let’s all be honest — the entire game was disconcerting. And that tied game was only part of a disconcerting week filled to the brim with disconcerting performances.
Here are some stat lines that will make your skin crawl as we look forward toward Halloween weekend.
Over the last two weeks. Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns have 14 combines catches, five combined drops and no touchdowns.
Let’s be clear: Robinson is struggling. Over the last two weeks he’s caught only five of his 12 targets for 58 yards while logging three drops. Meanwhile, Allen Hurns has 9 catches off of 15 targets for 119 yards while being responsible for two drops. I don’t want to be a Blake Bortles apologist. He’s been bad. His 51.5 PFF grade ranks 26th in the league. But over the last two weeks, seven of his 70 aimed passes were dropped.
Normally, you shouldn’t be too concerned with drops. After all, Amari Cooper led the league last year with 18 drops and Mike Evans put up 15 drops and yet the two of them were still top-25 plays on the season in PPR leagues. But Robinson and Hurns are not putting up yards or touchdowns. The drops seem to be a part of the larger issue. A lack of focus. A lack of offensive firepower. And frankly, it’s time to panic.
