We make a big deal out of Week 13 for season-long fantasy leagues. After all, in those leagues, Week 13 marks the end of the regular season, and so every fantasy player on the bubble for a playoff spot needs a Week 13 win in a bad way.
Of course, that’s only some of the players. Many others — the majority — are either firmly in the playoffs or firmly out of them. For them, Week 13 is at best just another week, at worst a week that doesn’t matter at all. And it’s for those fantasy players that daily fantasy even exists. When your season-long team doesn’t matter anymore, or doesn’t have anything to play for, DFS is there, offering up a game to get excited about.
