After months of speculation on Tyreek Hill’s 2019 status, the NFL announce Friday morning that he would not be suspended this season. This news instantly vaults Hill back up into borderline elite fantasy football territory.

At one point in the offseason, the future looked pretty bleak for Hill. The initial reports of off-field issues made a suspension or worse look likely, and those speculations gained steam after the Chiefs selected Mecole Hardman in the second round of April’s draft. The corresponding fantasy trepidation saw Hill’s stock plummet for much of the offseason.

More recent reports that he could face a maximum of a four-game ban cause his fantasy draft stock to rebound all that way up into the fourth round of 12-team PPR drafts. That now looks like a massive bargain, as Hill now slots in as our No. 6 wide receiver in all fantasy football scoring formats. That means you can expect him to now come off the board in the second round of your 2019 fantasy drafts.

Hill’s dynamic playmaking ability has made him one of the league’s highest-upside fantasy options. He broke out in 2017 with 75 catches for 1,183 yards and seven scores on his way to a ninth-place fantasy finish. But that was only the tip of the iceberg. With Patrick Mahomes at the helm for the Chiefs last season, Hill took yet another step forward with an eye-popping 1,479 yards and 12 scores on 87 catches. Those numbers ranked him fourth among wideouts in PPR scoring.

While we do expect Mahomes to regress somewhat from last season’s historic production, there’s no denying that the Chiefs are one of the league’s most explosive offenses. And Hill is a major reason why. He’s a big play waiting to happen any time he touches the ball. But Hill also sees favorable volume with 129 targets last year. With no suspension on the table, Hill is poised to pick right up where he left off last year.
