In this week’s IDP waiver wire piece I’m looking specifically at players’ scoring ability over several weeks, and their consistency from game to game, but if you’re more interested in those one-week dice roll type plays, then the data Jeff Ratcliffe is compiling is must-read stuff. The latest addition to the multitude of stats and data points a PFF gold subscription brings you is the OL-DL matchup chart. This data is not available anywhere else, and like the WR-CB data that we’ve been banging out for the last few seasons, it’s a game-changer when it comes to identifying the best possible matchups in any given week.
As always, if you need some further assistance, feel free to drop me a message on Twitter on @RossMilesNFL.
Defensive linemen
Marcell Dareus, Buffalo Bills
Despite being a hyper-talented player, there is a decent chance that Dareus is available in your league considering he started the year with a four-game suspension, and then missed Weeks 5-7 due to a hamstring injury. Dareus is an elite player who can make an impact when on the field, and he made his presence felt in his debut on Sunday with a sack and four solo tackles, playing 41-of-68 snaps. He’ll see his playing time trend up over the next few weeks as he gets back to full speed, and although he isn’t a DL1 because of his role in a 3-4 defense, he’s a very, very solid DL2/3.
