As we continue on through the end of the 2021 NFL season and battle in the fantasy football playoffs, remember to remain vigilant — teams that get complacent end up suffering over time. Hawking those waiver wires is key.

When waivers roll around later this week, it’s important to stay ahead of the game and keep track of players from the big slate of games Sunday afternoon. Here are two players to keep high on your priority list when Week 16 waivers are processed this Wednesday.

The Miami Dolphins recalled both Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed to the active roster ahead of their Sunday tilt against the New York Jets after their stints on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Ultimately, though, the day belonged to Duke Johnson Jr.

Johnson rumbled his way to 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns on a 22-attempt workload — the second-most for any Dolphins back this season. He also added a 20-yard reception on his lone target. This also marks the team's first 100-plus rushing yard game since last season, when Ahmed accomplished the feat in Week 10.

Johnson bounced around quite a bit following his tenure as the Cleveland Browns’ pass-catching back, but he never really caught on. In fact, until this week, Johnson never received more than 16 carries in a single game. But maybe he should have…

When the dust settles, this performance will likely earn Johnson the second-highest rushing grade any Dolphins running back has produced all season. Not to mention, Johnson forced nine missed tackles and tacked on four explosive run plays in this game. Gaskin still maintained a role but played just 38.5% of the team’s offensive snaps compared to Johnson’s 61.5% — and Ahmed didn’t log a single snap in this contest.
