• Finding undrafted (outside the top 180 in ADP) fantasy options who could make early waiver articles this season: Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell leads the bunch, especially with a plus matchup in Week 1.

• Getting ahead of the waiver rush: Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss is on track to get back soon and has the potential to be RB1 there while Jonathan Taylor is out.

QB Sam Howell, Washington Commanders

Fantasy Pros Consensus ADP: (200.3)

  • Howell draws a juicy matchup in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, who are the odds-on favorites to get the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
  • Howell may very well be without his top wide receiver Terry McLaurin, but he should still have plenty of weapons to throw to.
  • Even without McLaurin, Jahan Dotson should be considered a significant mismatch against the Cardinals’ unproven cornerbacks, none of whom have higher than Day 3 draft capital invested in them.
  • Howell could get off to a hot start in Week 1, showcasing his ability to run Eric Bieniemy’s offense with rushing upside.
