S Obi Melifonwu goes to the Raiders in the 2nd round

With the 56th overall pick in the NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders selected safety Obi Melifonwu out of Connecticut.
Melifonwu made a name for himself by being a standout performer in the NFL combine.
He recorded 20 run stops in 2016, tied for the most in the AAC.
In 2016, his 12.9 tackling efficiency (missing 1 tackle every 12.9 attempts) was tops in the AAC. He missed 9 tackles across 865 snaps.
Melifonwu’s overall grade of 82.2 was the highest for safeties in the AAC.
