- With the eighth pick of the second round (42nd overall), the Carolina Panthers drafted HB/WR Curtis Samuel from Ohio State Friday.
- Samuel led all NCAA running backs with 74 receptions last season, and his 2.76 yards per route run was the second-highest in the draft class.
- Samuel’s 87.1 PFF receiving grade was also the second-best among all draft-eligible running backs, giving the Panthers arguably the two most versatile running backs in the draft after adding Christian McCaffrey in the first round.
