- Florida State CB Tarvarus McFadden's overall grade of 82.5 in 2016 ranked No. 5 among returning ACC corners, and his coverage grade of 83.3 ranked No. 4.
- Checking in at 6-foot-1, 198-pounds, McFadden showed great ball skills when challenged vertically, as on deep passes (those targeted 20 or more yards downfield), he led all cornerbacks with six interceptions.
- Of returning ACC cornerbacks who were targeted 40 or more times, McFadden also had the lowest completion percentage allowed. Quarterbacks completed just 43.3 percent of their passes when targeting him in 2016.
- One aspect of McFadden's game to watch in 2017 is his tackling. Against the run, he recorded only 2.2 tackles per missed tackle which was one of the lowest figures among qualifying ACC corners.
- With prototypical size for the position and ball skills to match, McFadden projects as an early pick in the 2018 draft if he were to declare. An improvement in tackling would not only help an extremely talented Seminoles defense, but could help raise his standing in the eyes of scouts.
